We are honored that our partner, FullMind, did a case study on how their virtual teachers have benefitted our district. Thanks to FullMind, we are able to supply our scholars with some of the best instruction, even with the rural teacher shortage we're currently facing. ATTENTION: WEATHER UPDATE Greetings parents and families. School will be closed on Tuesday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 7th due to the impending storm Debby. This includes all after-school activities and events. This decision was made based on the expert recommendations of the Allendale County Preparedness Team. We are grateful for this partnership and many factors were considered in this decision. The safety of our staff and students must always come first. Since we are in the beginning days of school, e-learning is not an option at this time. Everyone please take precautions and be safe in the storm. Please look for the next update on Wednesday, August 7th via our Facebook or website. Thank you for your support of Allendale County Schools #TogetherWeCanDoThis

The South Carolina Governors School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) Awards Allendale County Students GoSciTech Scholarships. The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) is pleased to present two rising 8th graders from the Allendale County School District with the 2024 GoSciTech Scholar Award. Lucy Krebs and Tyrese Hammond, both students at Allendale Fairfax Middle School, received a full scholarship to participate in the GSSM Outreach Center’s GoSciTech Residential Camp summer program. Dr. Zaria O’Bryant presents Lucy Krebs the GoSciTech Residential Scholar Certificate of Award. Dr. Zaria O’Bryant presents Tyrese Hammond the GoSciTech Residential Scholar Certificate of Award. These students are among 12 rising 8th graders from Allendale, Bamberg, Hampton, and Jasper counties chosen by their schools to participate in this transformative program. “The 2024 GoSciTech Scholar Award was created to provide students with increased access to outstanding STEM learning experiences,” said Randy LaCross, GSSM Sr. VP for Outreach and Global Initiatives. “Our GoSciTech Residential summer program is an outstanding learning experience. The scholars will be immersed in the GSSM learning community and motivated to deepen their knowledge and understanding of mathematics, science, and engineering by participating in a week-long course that is challenging but delivered in a fun and interactive way.” The 2024 GoSciTech Scholar Award program is possible because of a generous grant provided to GSSM by The Trane Technologies Foundation. Each scholarship covers the cost of tuition, room and board, and all materials needed for this week-long residential camp experience. “The SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics is grateful to the Trane Technologies Foundation for their generous support,” said Dr. Zaria O’Bryant, GSSM Director of Academic and Outreach Partnerships. “We are extremely excited about the impact this will have in increasing interest and access to information, resources, and opportunities. This in turn should have the potential to transform lives across the great state of South Carolina!”
