Today, your child brought home the South Carolina Department of Education Parent Climate Survey with a personalized QR code created just for your family. We kindly ask that you take 10–15 minutes to complete the survey.
Your voice matters, and your feedback is very important to us as we work to strengthen our school and better support our students, families, and community. We are proud to share that, for the third year in a row, two of our rising 8th grade scholars have been awarded the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics Residential Scholarship. This prestigious week-long summer experience gives students the opportunity to live on campus, work in real labs, and engage in hands-on STEM learning led by GSSM faculty, college and university professors, and industry experts.
Congratulations to Mico Gentle and Heaven Tinsley-Hay on this outstanding achievement! We are proud of you and excited for this incredible opportunity.

This survey helps our school better understand families’ experiences and perspectives. Your feedback supports improvement in communication, school climate, family engagement, and student success. When you share your input, you help us make better decisions for our scholars and school community.
Directions to complete the survey:
1. Go to the PowerSchool Parent Portal Login Screen
2. Enter your username and password
3. Click "Forms" in the left column
4. Select the Forms link from the left-hand navigation bar
5. The 2026 SCDE School Climate Survey form will appear on the General Forms tab
6. Click 2026 PARENT AND GUARDIAN SCHOOL CLIMATE SURVEY
7. Complete the survey for each student

Our District Wellness Day is on Monday, March 23rd, immediately following our students’ early dismissal. This dedicated time is all about giving our staff and teachers the opportunity to rest, recharge, and reflect. We’re excited to offer a variety of pampering services, fun activities, and health resources for everyone to enjoy. When we take care of our team, we strengthen our entire school community.

Get ready to relax and recharge for our second annual District Wellness Day on Monday March 23rd. Sessions will begin immediately after students dismiss and will last until 4:45 PM. We are offering facials, massages, and manicures services as well as recreational activities like painting, basketball, kung fu, and line dancing. We want to pour into the people who keep our district running and we hope you will partake in this day.
